Shapeshifter HX 16mm

The Shapeshifter HX is the middle option in the X-series and the one I'd grab if I had to pick blind. The hybrid shape gives you most of the EX's reach without the slower hand speed, and most of the SX's quickness without losing leverage on drives. Spin is excellent across the line — the cubic carbon weave is the best feature of these paddles. Foam-injected edges keep off-center hits playable. If you're not sure whether you want elongated or standard, this splits the difference and doesn't make you commit.
