Invader 16mm

The Invader is stiff and unforgiving on off-center hits. The face is stiffer than the FatBoy or J2K — you feel the ball come off, no plush absorption — and the sweet spot sits higher on the face than typical hybrids, which took me a few sessions to recalibrate to. Where it really shines is at the kitchen: dinks stay low and controlled, and speed-ups come off with serious pop without trampolining. If you like direct feedback and trust your technique, great hybrid. If you want soft-feel, look elsewhere.
