The V is heavy and forgiving. You hit the ball and it sinks into the face, deep and plush, then releases without that quick snap some paddles give you. Off-center hits stay true—the 7.5 twist weight sees to that—and the paddle moves faster than eight ounces should. When you swing hard the core flexes and gives you power. When you don't, it absorbs and stays quiet. I played it for weeks and could not make it work. The ball went where I aimed but not precisely, and my touch shots never settled into something I could trust. Some players will want this kind of forgiveness. I did not.
