The X gives you reach and drive depth, but that higher swing weight means more load on your shoulder and less forgiveness on soft shots. Drives from midcourt or deeper have real penetration when you accelerate through the ball, and the elongated head gives you leverage to generate pace without over-swinging. But at 120-plus swing weight, it takes more effort to get around, and after a couple hours it started to wear me down—that's not a flaw, just a tradeoff for players built to handle it. Touch play is less forgiving than the V or S: the paddle rewards good timing on drops and resets but punishes hesitation, making it harder to catch up when you're late. That same plush, connected feel is here—quiet firmness at contact with clean feedback—but the heavier mass makes fast exchanges at the kitchen feel slower compared to the other shapes. Punch volleys are controlled and deliberate, though not as quick to reload as the lighter models. This is for players who generate their own pace, want maximum reach and baseline depth, and are comfortable with a heavier elongated profile—if you're sensitive to swing weight or value quick hands over power, the S or V will serve you better.
